Discover the Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland, the famous avenue of beech trees used as film location in the Game of Thrones. The planting was part of a drive leading to the grand home of the Stuart family.
The beech is the Queen of Irish and British trees and can reach 130 ft plus. The leaves are lime green in summer and turn a beautiful russet orange in autumn. A drive or walk along the avenue can be included in a day trip to the Giant’s Causeway. Irish Whiskey lovers will want to a stop at the Bushmills distillery on a day tour from Belfast.
