History
Known as 'The Fitz' by locals, the Hotel Partners Irish independent hotel company operates The Fitzwilliam. Its short history has welcomed high profile guests such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, and former US President Bill Clinton.

Fitzwilliam Hotel opened in 2009 next door to the Grand Opera House on Great Victoria Street, which opened its doors in 1895. During WWII, General Dwight Eisenhower visited with Field Marshal Montgomery for a performance in 1945. Famous acts on stage include Laurel & Hardy. In 1963, an unknown Italian singer named Luciano Pavarotti made his UK debut in Madame Butterfly.

In the late 20th century, the building was saved from demolition and restored. Today it continues to welcome audiences and stars who make the most of the adjacent Fitzwilliam Hotel next door.
