Sir Winston Churchill is more than a Prime Minister; he is a national treasure and celebrated hero. Chartwell, his family home, provides an intimate portrait of a man away from his public life. Furnished as if the 1930's, when he lived there, there is 'frozen in time' quality to the place, and some, 140 of Churchill's paintings adorn the walls of the house and art studio. The gardens are a joy and the views from the house are were much loved by Churchill.
