A brief history of the Goring Hotel
Jeremy Goring's great-grandfather constructed the Goring Hotel in 1910 and, since then, has been lovingly run by the family. That man saw significant potential in a piece of land situated somewhere presently known as Beeston Place. After removing specific surroundings like several cottages and a public house, The Goring was born.

The hotel first opened its doors on March 2nd in 1910 and was equipped with en-suite facilities and central heating in every bedroom. A range of historical events has occurred at The Goring over the last 110 years. For example, Sir Winston Churchill arranged meetings here with allied leaders during WW II. Every reigning Monarch and serving Prime Minister has been welcomed here since the opening in 1910. In more recent years Kate Middleton stayed at The Goring the night before her wedding to HRH Prince William on Friday, 29 April 2011.
