The Park Restaurant offers classic dining in elegant surroundings, including succulent charcoal-grilled steaks and fresh Atlantic seafood. During the warmer months, guests enjoy private dining in the secluded garden space.

With mahogany and wood-panelled alcoves and fireplaces, the Garden Bar & Whiskey Room's warm ambience matches its impressive dishes of gourmet sandwiches, meat, fish, garden dishes, and salads. In addition, staff may enhance the dining experience by delivering champagne, rare whiskies and crafted cocktails.

Alfresco dining is available on a heated patio at The Terrace overlooking the gardens. Fine wines, gin cocktails and classic Pimms complement the dishes, and during the warmer months, guests can enjoy a barbecue.

The Cellar is located at The Ross, the Killarney Park's sister property across the street. Dining is contemporary Irish with offerings such as wood-fired flatbreads, arancini, surf n' turf, and fish specials, with a good range of wines. Here you can also enjoy a relaxed afternoon tea on cosy sofas, with a combination of sweet and savoury selections. Later, you can round off your evening with champagne in the Pink Lounge upstairs.

History
Since the mid-1700s, visitors from around the world have been flocking to the 25,000 acres of Killarney National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty sitting in the shadow of Macgillycuddy's Reeks, Ireland's highest mountain range. So there has always been a need for good quality hotels in the area.

The story of the Killarney Park Hotel starts in the late 1920s. Around this time, 14-year-old Marie O'Sullivan arrived in Killarney from the nearby town of Kilgarvan to work at the Kenmare Arms, a hotel owned by her aunt Julia O'Donoghue. Ten years later, Marie Treacy was allowed to buy the hotel after marrying a local schoolteacher.

In 1938, she took out a loan from the bank in Killarney and raised a family of four children; she built the Ross Hotel, which has been owned by the Treacy family ever since. Marie ran the hotel for four decades, with her son Padraig and his wife Janet taking over management in 1983.

In 1990, Padraig and Janet purchased a site across the road at East Avenue. Killarney Park opened its doors in 1992 with 55 rooms. Today it is operated by the third generation of Treacys. The family still owns The Ross, which is now a 29-bedroom boutique hotel. With local senior staff and management, the hotel does offer a warm and genuine Killarney welcome. Perhaps not surprisingly, it was voted Ireland's no.1 luxury hotel by TripAdvisor in 2020.
