A brief history of the Chesterfield Hotel 
The Chesterfield Hotel's history starts with the plot of land that houses the hotel. This area was given to Lord Berkeley by King Charles to show appreciation for his support in the English Civil War in 1642. Originally this hotel was composed of three separate buildings, popular with renowned society-types. The structures were connected in 1943 and opened their doors as a hotel in 1973.

Today, the hotel remains a popular four-star hotel in a prime location.
