History
Although Hayfield Manor is a relatively recent addition to the hospitality industry, it dates back over 200 years. In 1815, local industrialist Richard Perrott who owned the Hive Iron Works in Cork, married Hannah Mary Barnes. They set up home at Hayfield Manor; the Musgraves, grocery merchants, purchased the estate, setting up a Cork trading company in 1876.

In 1996, current owners of the Scally family bought the estate and established Cork's first 5-star hotel. They renovated the house paying close attention to the original design. The hotel still holds some remaining pieces from the old manor house, such as the fireplace in the lobby. The main staircase by reception is a replica of the original.

The walled gardens' design to the back of the hotel was based on the famous Muckross Gardens in Killarney. Aside from this inspiration, the grounds have proud Corkonian roots. Some garden trees are over 150 years old, and the Weeping Willow by the main entrance retains a preservation order.
