Tour the Bridgerton film locations

The massive Netflix hit “Bridgerton” a drama set in England in the early 1800s has a huge following. The show based on Julia Quinn’s popular romantic novels is filmed in the historic and beautifully preserved city of Bath. The famous UNESCO World Heritage City doubles as London in the show.

Take an opportunity to see the places where Bridgerton was filmed and get an insight into the fictional family's life and times. Hear about Jane Austen’s life, fashion and etiquette of the period.

Tour two film locations; City of Bath, Wilton House and stop for Afternoon Tea at the Royal Crescent Hotel.

Bath, England's beautifully preserved small city

Bridgerton, the exciting period (Jane Austen era) drama, is set in London but filmed in Bath. London still has beautiful squares and streets, but Bath is intact, much like a ready-made film set. Therefore, this is where we will head before driving through Mayfair, briefly stopping at houses of the Bridgerton period to get a taste of London's past.

It is not surprising that Bath has UNESCO World Heritage Status. Despite World War Two bombing, the city is preserved with very few features of modern times.

First, we stop at Wilton House, the home of the 18th Earl and Countess of Pembroke, set in twenty-one acres of landscaped parkland. Wilton House stood in for no less than four "Bridgerton" family homes, including a Royal Palace. There is no doubt you will recognise the interiors of this luxurious stately home.

The house has a symmetrical late Tudor exterior and a stunning 17th Century interior adorned with highly valuable works of art by Van Dyck, Rembrandt and Pieter Brueghel. Wilton House's grounds are Capability Brown designed and make an ideal Bridgerton backdrop.

Stop for tea and cake before heading into Bath; first stop at the Holburne Museum, used as an entrance to a grand ball. Enjoy a walking tour of Bath and stop at Jane Austen Centre. Be enlightened on the period's culture, etiquette and the precarious position women of all ranks found themselves. Stroll down to Pickled Greens and see the shop that stands in for "Modiste", the dress shop key to each episode. Walkthrough Bath Street, Beauford Square and Trim street, all used for scenes. Time permitting, go inside Bath Abbey.

The historic Assembly Rooms were once venues for high-society balls, tea drinking and card playing. It was here where you danced the night away and came in close contact with a prospective husband or wife. Bridgerton is all about love, life and fashion; the Fashion Museum has a fascinating collection of shoes, dresses of the period, and up-to-date items.

Let us make out way to the home of the Featherington Family – aka the Royal Crescent Hotel. It is here we recommend Afternoon Tea in the elegant surroundings of the luxurious Royal Crescent Hotel.

We finish the day by stopping at some of Bath's most architecturally impressive streets before heading back to London.

It is important to know that there are several Bridgerton film locations around England. Please see our NEWS PAGE for details.
