Enjoy a highlights walking tour of Oxford's most famous college buildings, and visit Christ Church College with its elegant dining halls and vaulted staircases. Blenheim Palace is one of the country's largest private homes. See the state apartments and parkland. Have lunch in a traditional country pub and then see the villages that make the Cotswold region famous. Overnight Cotswold.
Day 3. Peak District National Park - Lake District
Tour through the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. The Peak District National Park has some of England most beautiful landscapes. The countryside is studded with caves, rocky outcrops and wind swept hillsides. Visit Chatsworth House, one of England's greatest private country homes. The setting, grounds and gardens are breathtaking. The gardens feature a maze, 200 metre cascade and the emperor fountain, one of the tallest gravity fed fountains in the world. Day 4. Lakes - The Gondola Boat - Gardens
Tour the Lake District including Lake Windermere and Ullswater. Take a boat trip on Coniston Water, on an elegant Victorian Steamboat, The Gondola. See the mountains, lakes, towns and villages that inspired the poet William Wordsworth. Overnight Lake District.
Day 5. Yorkshire Dales - Fountains Abbey - Castle Howard
Tour the Yorkshire Dales National Park, ‘James Herriot Country’. Pass villages such Hawes and stop for photos in the valleys and mountains tops. Visit Fountains Abbey, a huge 12th Century ruined monastery, now part of a sublime landscape garden with temples, ponds and monuments. Tour the North York Moors National Park to Castle Howard. This Baroque gem is home to paintings by Van Dyck, Gainsborough and Reynolds. Overnight York.
Day 6. Discover York - Shopping - York Minster
Tour York, enjoy a private walking tour of this great medieval city. Visit York Minster, Europe’s largest Church north of the Alps. Explore the city’s narrow lanes, snickets and famous tea and antique shops. Overnight York.
Day 7. Ancient Lincoln - Cambridge City - London
Tour Lincoln, a city with pre-historic origins. The triple-towered gothic cathedral stands on a 200 ft limestone plateau among medieval buildings. Cambridge with its fascinating architecture of all styles and perfect lawns. See magnificent Kings College Chapel. Tour the beautiful Suffolk countryside studded with ancient towns suspended in time.
