      Itinerary Details

Your personal driver-guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel at 8.00 am. This is the perfect opportunity to discuss any changes you might like to make to your tour. Any tour itinerary we suggest is flexible and can be altered to suit your individual requirements, even on the day.

Visit Glastonbury Abbey, one of Europe’s oldest Christian foundations in England. Founded in 712, it was once England’s richest monastery and legendary burial place of King Arthur. See the remains of the Lady Chapel which was destroyed during the fire of 1184, but quickly restored.

Historians now agree that a 5th Century warrior king defended the country from the invading Anglo Saxons. This may well be the source of the legend of King Arthur. Could Glastonbury Abbey also be the last resting place of the Holy Grail? Your guide will be able to enlighten you on the latest theories.

Over 157 metres high, Glastonbury Tor is an ancient hill in the county of Somerset, with St Michael’s Tower on the summit. This unique historical landmark is proudly part of Glastonbury’s listed buildings. The sides of the Tor have seven symmetrical terraces; there is no firm explanation as to why it was formed in this way. During the Saxon and Medieval period, many buildings were constructed on the hill, but only the church of St Michael remained, which is now only represented as a tower. The Glastonbury Tor is mentioned in the mythical links to King Arthur.

Tour the cathedral city of Wells, it is considered to be the smallest city in England.

Wells Cathedral, also known as the Church of St Andrew, is a medieval cathedral with the first church on site from 705. The present cathedral was constructed in the 12th Century and takes on a Gothic architectural style. Visit Bishop’s Palace, which has been the home of bishops for 800 years. Even today, parts of the building are residence to the current bishop. See the rare swans on the moat at Bishop’s Palace; two of the swans were a present from Queen Elizabeth II to the bishop.

Stop by Vicars’ Close which is the oldest complete medieval street in Europe dating from around the 14th Century. The cathedral can be seen from this street.

Tour Cheddar Gorge, a spectacular limestone ravine cut through the Mendip Hills. In 1903, Britain’s oldest skeleton was found in the Cheddar caves and is considered to be 9,000 years old. The cave holds many stalagmites, making it a real natural wonder.

      And why we do it!

Our aim is always to be an ‘upgrade’ to anything else available, but without going ‘over the top’ with our prices. We started our business by offering simple day tours and deliver them well. It was not long before our clients were asking us to include more services and events – this we took as a compliment and felt it showed they trusted us and had confidence that we would deliver to a high standard, without the fuss.
