Day 1. Chepstow Castle, Tintern Abbey, Symonds Yat Rock and Ludlow Town.
See views of the first stone castle in Britain, Chepstow Castle was constructed during the 11th century. Playing a major part in the Civil War, the castle is now a dramatic cliff top monument within the town. The 800 year old castle door is the oldest in Europe.
Visit Tintern Abbey. The abbey suffered at the hands of Henry VIII during the Dissolution of the Monasteries. After the roof was stripped of its lead, the abbey fell into ruin and consequently became a source of romanticism for the painter JMW Turner, William Wordsworth and other poets.
On the border of England and Wales, the views from Symonds Yat Rock are simply incomparable. Look down to see the River Wye or above to see rare raptors circling overhead.
Overnight: Mid Wales.
Day 2. Harlech Castle, Cadair Idris and Mountain Touring.
One of Britain’s most stunning mountainscapes and a popular place for walkers and climbers, Cadair Idris is a mountain on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. There is various routes to the peak with differing levels of difficulty. Covering the most beautiful unspoiled mountains and countryside in North Wales, the topography resembles The Himalayas; hence Sir Edmund Hilary trained here before successfully ascending Mount Everest in 1952.
Keeping watch over Snowdonia, Harlech Castle overshadows the untouched coastline. During wartime, the stronghold had seaborne access, allowing supplies to be delivered. The fortified structure is now a ruin, but still has a major impact on the landscape
Overnight: North Wales.
Day 3. Conwy Castle and Bodnant Gardens.
Known as one of the finest gardens in Britain, not only for its magnificent collections of rhododendrons, camellias and magnolias, but also for its idyllic setting above the River Conwy. Explore the lower garden of ‘dell’ which features wooded slopes and riverside walks.
Conwy Castle and town walls are the most impressive fortresses built by King Edward I. The remarkably well-preserved town walls are over 4000 feet long and fortified with 21 towers and 3 gates.
Overnight: North Wales.
Day 4. Snowdon Railway and Penrhyn Castle.
Craggy mountains, steep valleys and jewel-like lakes make up Snowdonia National Park. We can reach the summit of Mount Snowdon by the famous mountain railway, weather permitting.
Penrhyn Castle was created by a rich businessman whose fortune was founded on the nearby slate quarries and the faraway sugar plantations of Jamaica. Although only built in the 19th century, its roots are authentically historic.
Overnight: North Wales.

And why we do it!
Our aim is always to be an ‘upgrade’ to anything else available, but without going ‘over the top’ with our prices. We started our business by offering simple day tours and deliver them well. It was not long before our clients were asking us to include more services and events – this we took as a compliment and felt it showed they trusted us and had confidence that we would deliver to a high standard, without the fuss.
