Enjoy a private guided tour of the mysterious site of Stonehenge. This ancient temple was built around 5,000 years ago, making it older than the pyramids of Egypt. It is now classed as a World Heritage Site. It was thought to be a place of healing, as well as an astronomical clock and a religious site.
Explore the visitor centre which has various exhibitions relating to Stonehenge. See the objects discovered in the local areas such as axes, arrows and domestic objects.
The great advantage of having your own professional driver-guide is to be able to take scenic routes that are off-the-beaten-track and explore England’s country lanes, hamlets and lesser known villages.
Stop at a popular countryside village pub for a traditional Christmas dinner. Tucked away in the village of Corton is The Dove Inn; a firm favourite with our clients.
In the shadows of Bath Abbey, walk around the Christmas market; each stall has been carefully handpicked to create a huge assortment of gifts. Whether it’s Christmas decorations, unique jewellery or handcrafted candles – there is something for everyone.
In case you’re peckish, there are many options to pick from – such as steak and caramelised onion on ciabatta, slow roasted pork brioche buns and a waffle cart with traditional toppings. The handmade fudge stall is popular with the children, whilst the liqueur and mulled wine is somewhat of a success with the adults!
Day 2. Cotswolds Villages, Oxford Christmas Market and Christ College.
The Cotswolds is a place to escape; a haven for those in need to watch the world go by. Take a journey through England’s timeless countryside and visit the pretty villages surrounded by the Cotswold Hills. See traditional thatched cottages and delightful shops full of unusual and unique items.
Have lunch in a traditional country pub serving local ales and food, prepared with Cotswolds sourced ingredients. When the weather is inclement, pubs usually have roaring log fires to keep everyone warm.
Enjoy a walking tour with your guide and visit Christ Church College with its vaulted staircase and elegant Tudor dining hall, the inspiration for locations in the Harry Potter films.
Walk through the historic Broad Street and discover what the wooden stalls have to offer. From photography and artwork to fair trade natural items. See the unusual snow globes on sale, as well as handcrafted pottery. There will be carol singers, brass bands and performers throughout December.
Day 3. Blenheim Palace, Blenheim’s ‘trail of lights’ formal gardens, Hampton Court Palace and fairy-lit maze. Finish back in London, via London’s famous Christmas lights.
Home to the Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is a grand aristocratic home befitting the high status of a Dukedom.
This Baroque masterpiece was built to impress; the long drive up to the great court provides splendid views of Capability Brown’s world famous landscaped grounds. Time-permitting, tour the magnificent state rooms.
Visit The Orangery Restaurant within Blenheim Palace for a festive lunch, before making your way to Hampton Court Palace.
The inspiration for historical novels and location for films, Hampton Court has it all. There is much to see and do for both adults and children. Enjoy a private guided tour inside Hampton Court Palace, with architecture and furnishings reflecting the tastes of kings and queens over a period of some 300 years. Tour the authentic Tudor kitchens; they would have had the capacity to cater for a court of 600 people – a huge daily operation without modern appliances such as microwaves or electric whisks! Visit the great hall with its hammer-beamed roof and tapestries. Travel into another century and see the Baroque State Apartments, built during the reign of King William and Queen Mary.
The Tudor maze and gardens ought to be visited as they are renowned throughout the world. Let the twinkling lights guide you to the centre of the maze!
Night comes early in December, so on route back to your hotel you can enjoy the Christmas lights on Oxford and Regent Street, before stopping at Trafalgar Square for Christmas Carols by the Famous Tree.
Return to London.

And why we do it!
Our aim is always to be an ‘upgrade’ to anything else available, but without going ‘over the top’ with our prices. We started our business by offering simple day tours and deliver them well. It was not long before our clients were asking us to include more services and events – this we took as a compliment and felt it showed they trusted us and had confidence that we would deliver to a high standard, without the fuss.
