Churchill loved the views of the glorious Weald of Kent from Chartwell as do all of today’s visitors.
Hever Castle
Childhood home of Anne Boleyn, ill-fated second wife of King Henry VIII. See award-winning gardens featuring Roman statues, impressive rose gardens, traditional yew hedge maze, Italian sunken gardens, chamber with real medieval instruments of torture, lake and water maze, which children (of all ages) really love. This castle is a favourite with families.
Ightham Mote

Penhurst Place
With breathtaking medieval Barons' Great Hall and gardens divided by a mile of yew hedged ‘rooms’, each planted to give a succession of colours as the seasons change. This is an extraordinary great house. Penshurst Place is one of England’s greatest family-owned stately homes with a history going back six and a half centuries. There is also an adventure playground, making Penshurst a great place to visit for all the family.
Bodiam Castle
A delightful moated fortress. Great for children to run around.
Dover Castle
A huge fortress perched high on the cliffs. Journey deep into the white cliffs of Dover and discover the top secret World War II tunnels. Relive the wartime drama of the underground hospital and enjoy views of France from the castle battlements.
Sissinghurst Castle Gardens
One of world’s most celebrated gardens - the creation of Vita Sackville-West and her husband Sir Harold Nicolson.
Emmetts Garden
Wonderful views across the Weald of Kent with the highest tree top in the country. Glorious shows of daffodils, bluebells, azaleas and rhododendrons.
Scotney Castle Garden
One of England’s most romantic spots with wonderful gardens surrounding the ruins of a 14th century moated keep. Wisteria, azaleas, rhododendrons and kalmia flower in profusion.
